After graduating from Haslett High School in Haslett, Michigan in 2001, Ryan completed two bachelor's degrees, in English and Ancient Studies (Greek and Latin) at Michigan State University, graduating summa cum laude, a member of the Honors College, and Phi Beta Kappa in 2005. Supported by a full-ride fellowship and teaching package, he then started his master's coursework at Ohio State University in late 2005, received his master's degree in 2007, and continued on in Ohio State's top-tier medieval-studies program for his Ph.D. in English, which he received in June 2012. Ryan taught at Ohio State University from 2006-2011 and the University of Massachusetts - Boston from 2012-present, where he received a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship. He has published articles on medieval literature and culture and given a wide range of conference presentations and talks. Ryan began tutoring in 2009 and founded The Ph.D. Tutor in 2011. He offers tutoring in Quincy, MA or over Skype.
After graduating from Michigan State University in 2005 with degrees in English and Ancient Studies, Chad traveled to Reims, France to teach English for a year at Lycée Grand Technique Franklin Roosevelt (a French high school). Upon returning to the U.S., he completed his M.A. at Kent State University (2008) and then won a spot in Purdue University's prestigious Ph.D program, receiving full-ride funding at both schools. Chad has taught a variety of English and Latin courses at Purdue, and he has also designed and offered summer enrichment programs for younger students through Purdue's Gifted Education Research Institute. Additionally, Chad has given papers at conferences across the U.S., including at the International Congress on Medieval Studies and the Sewanee Medieval Colloquium, and he has won a variety of awards to support and honor his work. He will receive his Ph.D. in May 2013. Chad taught at Lycée Grand Technique Franklin Roosevelt from 2005-2006, at Kent State from 2006-08, and at Purdue University from 2008-present. He began tutoring on the side in 2010 and joined together with Ryan at The Ph.D. Tutor in 2012. He offers tutoring in West Lafayette, IN or over Skype.
